Heather Neilly - The Influence of Grazing Strategies on Wildlife

Picture
Many studies examine the effect of grazing on fauna by comparing grazed and ungrazed areas, which is useful but does not provide management recommendations to graziers wishing to protect biodiversity.  I am studying the effect of different cattle grazing regimes on vertebrate fauna on the Wambiana grazing trial near Charters Towers (http://futurebeef.com.au/resources/projects/wambiana-grazing-trial/). The project is supported through Meat and Livestock Australia, and the Holsworth Wildlife Research Endowment.
